Pick the studio by your goal and your life stage, not by whoever has the slickest Instagram. A studio buys you better equipment, real accountability, and often physio or nutrition under the same roof, which a freelance trainer in a condo gym usually can't. The honest catch: most Singapore studios don't publish a rate card. They run a free consult, assess you, then quote. So a few prices below are studio-published, the rest are by-enquiry, and every number is a "confirm the current rate in writing before you pay."
| Pick | Best for | Standout | Indicative price (SGD) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Catalyst Performance | Healthspan & longevity, science-led strength | Doctor co-founded; 4-pillar healthspan method, no lock-in | By enquiry; free 60-min assessment |
| LEVEL | Strength, CBD professionals | Publishes a real per-session rate | From $160/session (before GST) |
| UFIT | Strength + physio + nutrition | Allied health under one roof | By enquiry; free consult |
| Surge | Body composition, training around conditions | Three studios, condition-specific | By enquiry; free assessment |
| Genesis Gym | Science-led strength, mid-life | "Mid-Life Makeover" programme | By enquiry; free consult |
| Oompf! | Women-focused fat loss & strength | Publishes an honest hourly band | $95–$158/hour |
| Vigeo | Women who want a women-led studio | Built around female physiology | By enquiry |
| Urban Active Fitness | At-your-doorstep PT | Mobile, published packages | $100–$110/session |
| FITFAMCO | Flexible home/outdoor/gym PT | Train anywhere, islandwide | $150 trial; then by enquiry |
| Thrive — Legends | Seniors strength, physio-led | Group class, every class a physio | $35 trial; $465/10 sessions |
| Rehab Space — SuperSENIOR | Seniors 60+ with a medical angle | Rehab-grade, physio-led | $40 trial class |
How to read Singapore PT prices in 2026
The market runs roughly $60 to $200-plus per session. Newly-certified trainers sit around $30 to $90, experienced trainers $90 to $180, and specialist or private-studio coaches $180 to $350-plus. CBD and prime-district studios sit at the top because commercial rent is brutal; heartland areas like Jurong, Woodlands and Tampines often run lower, around $70 to $120.
Two things move the real number. First, packages: buying in blocks of 10, 20 or 30 is where the discount lives, and the per-session cost drops materially. Second, GST: at 9%, a $160 session is closer to $174 once it's added, so always ask whether a quoted rate is before or after tax.
Best for strength and general performance
1. Catalyst Performance — Best for healthspan, longevity and science-led strength in the CBD. Catalyst is a private, appointment-only 1-on-1 studio that trains for healthspan — the years you live in good health — rather than a quick aesthetic before-and-after. Its tagline, "train for the decades, not the deadline," runs through the method: every client starts with a Four-Pillar Assessment measuring body composition, cardio capacity (VO₂max and zone-2 endurance), stability and strength, and the programme is built from those numbers. It's co-founded by a medical doctor (MBBS) alongside a commercial-gym GM and a HYROX athlete — an unusually clinical line-up for a PT studio — and runs with no membership tiers, no class schedules and no recurring monthly debits: you book sessions and buy packages upfront. Want to see where you stand before you commit? The free Catalyst Healthspan Audit is a 12-question, three-minute self-assessment that scores those same four pillars (0–10, with a per-pillar breakdown) before you ever speak to a coach. The catch: it's a premium CBD studio with by-enquiry pricing and 1-on-1 only, so there's no cheap group option or public rate card — start with the free 60-minute Healthspan Assessment to get a real figure. Where to get it: Manulife Tower, 8 Cross Street #05-03, above Telok Ayer MRT; book via catalystperformance.sg.
Disclosure: Catalyst Performance is run by the team behind The Catalyst Feed. We've placed it first for its healthspan methodology and clinical credibility — but the honest advice is the same as for every studio here: take the free assessment and judge it for yourself against the independent picks below.
2. LEVEL — Best for strength and structured coaching in the CBD. LEVEL is one of the few studios that prints a number: personal training starts from $160 per session before GST, with a complimentary first consultation valued at the same. Coaches cover strength, mobility, hybrid, rehab, pre- and post-natal, seniors and women's fitness, with a data-driven assessment on intake. The catch is the price: this is a top-of-market CBD rate, so it's not the pick if you're cost-sensitive or training out east. Where to get it: the Telok Ayer studio, book the free consult via level.com.sg.
3. UFIT — Best for strength with physio and nutrition under one roof. UFIT's "Circle of Care" wraps personal training around on-site physiotherapy, podiatry, sports medicine and dietitians, sold as 8 to 12-week programmes with Atome instalments. That makes it strong for returning to training after an injury, or HYROX prep where you want coaching and rehab talking to each other. The catch: rates are by enquiry only, so you'll need the free consult to get a real figure. Where to get it: Club Street (CBD flagship), City Hall, one-north, plus an Orchard Central clinic.
4. Surge — Best for body composition and training around a health condition. Surge runs three studios and trains around real medical context: hypertension, diabetes, scoliosis, slipped disc, plus post-natal and seniors. Good if "fat loss" for you also means working safely around something a generic gym would shrug at. The catch: no published rates; expect a free consult and physical assessment first, and the Singapore market band of roughly $60 to $350 a session is wide for a reason, so pin the number down. Where to get it: Tanjong Pagar, Robertson Quay (New Bahru) and East Coast (i12 Katong, by appointment).
5. Genesis Gym — Best for science-led strength and mid-life transformation. Genesis leans into structured, science-based strength and runs a "Mid-Life Makeover" programme aimed at busy adults who want to rebuild rather than just sweat. Coaches hold ACE, NASM, ISSA and ACSM certs, and sessions flex between 1-on-1 and small group. The catch: pricing isn't publicly listed and comes in blocks after a free consult. Where to get it: Katong (Mountbatten Rd), Newton (Winstedt Rd) and Alexandra.
Best for fat loss and body composition
Worth saying plainly: a good "fat loss" programme is mostly progressive strength training plus nutrition coaching, not a special fat-burning workout. Judge these on whether they coach both.
6. Surge earns a second mention here for body-composition and physique work across its three locations (see above for areas and the by-enquiry caveat).
7. Oompf! — Best for women-focused fat loss and strength with an honest price. Oompf! publishes an hourly band of $95 to $158 depending on when you train, and runs a five-session starter trial, which is refreshingly transparent for this market. Women-only focus, including pre- and post-natal, with duo and small-group options. The catch: it's women-focused, so not the pick for men or couples wanting to train together. Where to get it: East Coast (130 East Coast Rd) and Bukit Timah (805 Bukit Timah Rd).
8. Urban Active Fitness — Best for fat-loss PT that comes to you. Not a fixed studio, so a slight asterisk on the "studios" brief: Urban Active is a mobile, at-your-doorstep service that trains you in your condo gym, home or a park. It publishes packages, which is rare: 1-on-1 from $1,100 for 10 sessions ($110) and $2,000 for 20 ($100), with buddy training from $1,600 for 10 ($160). The catch: you're relying on whatever equipment your condo gym has, so heavy-barbell strength work can be limited. Where to get it: islandwide, book via urbanactivefitness.sg.
Best women-only and women-focused studios
9. Vigeo — Best for women who want a private, women-led studio. Vigeo builds programmes around female physiology, hormonal fluctuations and life stages from post-natal to menopause, in an exclusive studio rather than a commercial gym floor. If a busy mixed gym is the thing that's been keeping you away, this is the antidote. The catch: no published rates, so confirm pricing on enquiry. Where to get it: YWCA Fort Canning (6 Fort Canning Rd). Oompf! (above) is the other strong women-focused pick, and the one with a published price.
Best for rehab and return to training
When there's a genuine injury or medical dimension, pick a physio-led option over a general gym trainer.
10. UFIT is the strongest all-rounder here thanks to in-house physiotherapy that hands you off cleanly to training (areas and caveat above).
11. FITFAMCO — Best for flexible rehab and weight-loss PT, anywhere. FITFAMCO trains you at home, outdoors or in a gym, islandwide, covering weight loss, muscle building, pre- and post-natal, post-injury rehab and private nutrition coaching. Good if you can't commit to one studio location or want sessions to fit around an awkward schedule. The catch: a one-time trial is $150 and ongoing package rates are by enquiry, so get the per-session figure before you commit. For a clinic-grade option, Rehab Space (below) also offers 1-on-1 strength and home physio for stroke, orthopaedic and geriatric cases.
Best for seniors
Both picks here are physiotherapist-led group strength, which is the safest entry point for a frail or deconditioned older adult.
Thrive Healthcare — Legends — Best for seniors strength and balance, physio-led. Every Legends class is led by a registered physiotherapist trained in geriatric rehab, with exercises individually adjusted for pre-existing conditions. It's a class format, not 1-on-1, built for ages 50 to 90 around squats, deadlifts and balance work. Studio-published pricing: $35 trial, $465 for 10 sessions ($46.50 each), $880 for a couple's 10-pack, plus a free 1-on-1 physio assessment first. Held at Rx Performance, 331 New Bridge Road.
Rehab Space — SuperSENIOR — Best for over-60s with a genuine medical or rehab need. SuperSENIOR is a physio-led small-group strength, function and balance class for over-60s, and the clinic also runs 1-on-1 strength and home-based physio for stroke, orthopaedic and geriatric cases. Choose this when there's a real medical dimension, not just general fitness. Trial class is $40 per person; ongoing rates by enquiry. Located at Havelock (2 Havelock Rd), near Clarke Quay.
What to check before you sign
- Certifications. Ask for ACE, NASM, ISSA, ACSM or a recognised local equivalent, and for rehab cases, a registered physiotherapist.
- Trial policy. Do a trial session before any package. Most of these studios offer one; use it.
- Package expiry. Block discounts often come with an expiry date. A 20-session pack you can't finish in time isn't a discount.
- GST. Confirm whether the quote is before or after the 9% GST.
- Contract lock-in and refunds. Get the cancellation and refund terms in writing before you pay.
- Hygiene, equipment and commute. Visit in person, and be honest about whether you'll actually travel there twice a week.
